  • Just guessing, but I think it is a Massey Harris 44 standard...my two cents worth

  • it is a massey 44k (kerosene) standard with wheatland fenders. its a kerosene model,u can see the manifold is enclosed to heat up fuel.my neighbor has same model . its alot of tractor in a small package.

  • Thanks for the help. The tractors are Marshall Aid tractors and ran on kerosene as gasoline was sparse and expensive around 1950. Marshall Aid supplied an assorted variety of all US built tractors so a DK buyer could seldom decide on brand himself but had to buy whatever was available. Just being able to buy a tractor at that time was really a luxury. Thanks to the US and General Marshall,a massive help to boost post war agricultural production in Europe was provided by this aid programme.

  • the front is an Oliver
44 Magnum wrote on Thursday, May 02, 2013 (PDT):
  • Front tractor is one of only two possible tractors. 44 or 55 Massey. By the height compared to the JD it is probably a kerosene 55 Wheatland. It is definitely not an Oliver or an Allis, nor is it a Case.

  • both are Kubotas

  • Massy Harris 55
chuck wrote on Sunday, February 16, 2014 (PST):
  • The front tractor is a 44 kerosene wheatland standard massey harris. not a 55 at all. the 44 has the 16 inch pressed steel,5 bolt front wheels plainly seen in picture. 55's had 18inch front tires with cast iron wheel centers and bolt on wheel rims.
chuck wrote on Sunday, February 16, 2014 (PST):
  • forgot to mention the 44 uses the steering box in front of radiator. if u look close you can see the steering shaft right under the carb air tube. the 55 uses a steering box under the gas tank /dash area with a pittman arm and rod outside the frame of tractor on carb side of engine.
